Latest APCC Program Rounds

The Improvement Foundation is delivering three new specialised APCC waves that focus on greater engagement of practice managers, practice nurses and other primary health care professionals to lead quality improvement work within their organisations. IF is working closely with national organisations such as the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) and the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) to ensure the design and delivery of the Waves adequately support these health professionals to implement quality improvement and improve patient outcomes within their organisations.

The new programs waves are: Complex Chronic Disease and Integration Wave - this wave will be delivered in collaboration with the local Health and Hospital Service in Queensland. APCC Participant Survey Results – 100% Success

A recent survey of past APCC participants revealed that 100% of survey respondents had applied the skills that they learnt in the program to make improvements within their organisation. While their involvement in the APCC Program had a specific topic focus, the adaptability of the APCC methodology has seen over 80% of participants have used their new QI skills to make improvements in other areas of their business ranging from accounting, general practice management, accreditation,  immunisation and more. Additionally, 90% of survey respondents found the APCC program of ‘great value’ and over 95% of respondents said that they would recommend the program to their colleagues. The Improvement Foundation looks forward to sharing the value of Quality Improvement with the recent APCC program initiative starting in March. The respondents of the survey comprised of 10% Medicare Locals/ Divisions, 85% General Practices 2% Community Health Services 2% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services. Australian Primary Care Collaboratives Program continues to 2015

Improvement Foundation (IF) is pleased to announce the ongoing delivery of the Australian Primary Care Collaborative (APCC) Program which will be delivered nationally over the next 3 years. Mr Colin Frick, IF Chief Executive Officer says 'IF are offering a further 500 Australian general practices and primary health care services, and all 61 Medicare Locals the opportunity to participate in what is going to be Australia's largest primary health care quality improvement collaborative, the APCC Program'.  More than 1100 Australian primary health care professionals will be trained in quality improvement methods through their involvement in Phase 4 of the Program.
